Kakinada, Mar 23rd: For the Phase-I polls to be conducted in the district on April 16, the nomination process for the same was started on Monday. The process will continue till March 30. Speaking to the media at district collectorate on Monday, East Godavari district collector, Mr. Gopala Krishna Dwevedi said that the election authorities have made all the arrangements to see that no disturbance takes place during the time of nominations. No nominations were received on the first day for Rampachodavaram Assembly segment.
Collector revealed that the election authorities have removed a total of 46, 095 numbers of publicity materials under the model code of conduct and the penalties to a total of Rs10 lakh was imposed on political parties which include Congress, TDP, PRP, CPI and others. Of this congress owes Rs 4.65 lakh, the TD Rs 2.03 lakh and the PR Rs 4.05 lakh. Collector said that notices were issued by the authorities to the concerned political parties to pay the penalties within 15 days from now and he warned to impose RR act on those who fail to pay the penalty before the due date.
