Collector M. Ravi Chandra on Monday asked officials of various departments to respond to complaints from statutory bodies like Lok Ayukta, national and State Human Rights Commission, welfare commissions for the SCs and STs, Right to Information Act, courts and the Chief Minister's office in time. He made it clear that the officials concerned would be responsible for any delay in responding to the statutory organizations. The Collector asked the officials of the Excise department not to allow setting up liquor shops within 100 meters from schools and places of worship. He advised the officials not to wait till the last minute to send the reply and not to give an incomplete reply. Mr. Ravi Chandra advised officials to observe protocol without fail during government programs. Stressing the need for conducting surprise visits at the field level, he wanted weekly reports from officials of welfare departments. District Revenue Officer S. Venkata Rao was present.
