New PG course to start in JNTU

Kakinada, July 5th: The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada is going to start new post graduation course in clinical research from this academic year under public private participation (PPP). The two year course will be divided into 18 months theory classes and six months practical training. This degree after MBBS, Engineering and B.Pharmacy will have fair chances of employment in the sectors of drug designing, pharmacy, drug industry, health labs, data management and allied activity.

 

The vice chancellor of the varsity, Prof. Allam Apparao, held discussions with the CEO of Apollo Hospitals (Hyderabad), Dr. Hariprasad regarding the course details. The correspondent of the local V.S Lakshmi College of Engineering for Women, Dr. Sitarama Raju will act as coordinator for the PPP project. The main objective of starting the new course is that in the field of advanced studies in medicine, technical education will have a key role to play. Graduates in medicine, pharmacy and engineering are eligible for taking up the course. It is estimated that there was a need of 50,000 clinical researchers in the next couple of years.
