Kakinada, Nov 6th: The social welfare minister, Mr. Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose said that the government was taking steps to shift the boarders of SC, ST and BC welfare hostels who presently staying in private building to renovated government building shortly. He reminded that the state government had estimated to spend a total of Rs 1,140 crore to renovate all dilapidated hostel building during Dr. Y.S Rajasekhar Reddy’s tenure.
Participating in a review meeting on the working conditions of all welfare hostels in the district with the officials here on Friday, the minister said that the state government was taking all necessary steps for welfare of boarders in the district. As part of it, the government is getting ready to spend Rs 1,750 crore for fee reimbursement and post metric scholarships. Besides, it paid Rs 85 lakh as an insurance premium to provide free medical and health facilities to all the inmates of the welfare hostels in the state, he added.
