Visakhapatnam, Aug 19th: The union minister for power, Mr. Sushil Kumar Shinde, will launch new courses in 12 industrial training institutes on Thursday through video conferencing mode from Scope Convention Center, New Delhi. The institutes were adopted by the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC). Of the 12 the ITI at Bhadragiri in Gummalakshmipuram mandal of Vizianagaram district was adopted by the Simhadri Super Thermal Power Project.
The residential ITI has been taken up under the centrally sponsored scheme through public private partnership for upgrading and renovation. The plaque unveiling function will be held at the Simhadri project here on Thursday. Besides the representatives of the department of technical education, general manager of Simhadri and chairman of Institute Management Committee (IMC), Mr. R. Venkateswaran will attend the function.
Spokesman of the project, Mr. Rama Rao said that the NTPC has signed a MOU with the government for adoption of it is located in the vicinity of NTPC stations or projects all over the country. Apart from the existing courses, new courses like computer operation and program assistance, dressmaking, welder and additional unit of fitter shall be introduced from the current academic year.
