Press Academy would set up various new courses for the Contemporary Training meant for journalists working in various Newspapers and TV Channels across the state. On this, Academy has released a statement here on Monday that courses would begin from the 31st of this month. Collaborating with an established institution like Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University, courses like Photo Journalism and Digital Production Techniques in Media will be provided. They advised that in order to avoid interruption in their duties, classes must be conducted only on Sundays. These courses, which would be conducted for a period of 3 months, thereby giving a strong foundation and a bright future to journalists. According to the statement released a certificate and amount of Rs.2000/- will be presented to the candidates who would be meritorous in the course. Journalists with more than 5yrs seniority are eligible and application forms will be available at Academy office, Academy website, DPRO, and Divisional PRO office. Only 30 seats are available in each course according to the notification. Applications must reach Press Academy on or before the 18th of this month.
