Need to rush power projects: AP CM

Hyderabad, Oct 30th: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Konijeti Rosaiah on Oct 30 emphasized on the need to expedite all the ongoing power projects in the State keeping in view the ever increasing demand and the interests of the consumers. He was reviewing the status of power projects and the power supply position with the senior officials of A P Genco, AP Transco, Boilers and NEDCAP at the Secretariat here. Reviewing various ongoing power projects, the Chief Minister wanted the officials to adhere to the schedule of their completion.

The Chief Minister directed the officials to again meet on November four to review project-wise details. The Managing Director, Singareni Collieries Company, Limited (SCCL), Mr Narsingh Rao informed the company had come up with a novel proposal of setting up of a power project of 600 MW at a cost of Rs 2,700 crore in Jaipur Mandal of Adilabad District for which all formalities like land acquisition and identification of coal reserves were completed.
