Kakinada, Dec 20th: Kakinada Government General Hospital superintendent, Dr. MBR Sharma revealed the need for creating awareness among the people on eye donation. Dr. Sharma participated as the chief guest for the anniversary program conducted by the Badam Bala Krishna eye bank at its office premises in NFCL road on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion he appreciated the services done by the eye bank in educating people and creating awareness among them about the eye donation. With the initiation taken by the trust members the people are quite educated about the eye donation and need to participate more actively in the programs, he added.
Eye bank chairman, Badam Balakrishna said that till now they were successful in collecting 438 corneas and blessed 256 with eye sight. He also said that they were organizing many programs to educate people about the eye donation. On this occasion they facilitated the family member who donated their eyes. Later he inaugurated the Website www.badambalakrishnaeyebank.org in which the complete information and details of the website are uploaded. Lions club governor N.V.N Durga Prasad, Dr. Vijaya Lakshmi, Dr. Vadrevu Ravi and others participated.
