Nearly 40 huts turned into ashes

Dummulapeta in kakinada, area where major fisher folks live had met with a severe fire accident on this Friday. 40 Huts were nearly gutted and over 30 cattle and poultry were burned completely to death. Five fire engines rushed immediately to the spot after informing to putt off the fire. Properties worth Rs.10 lakh were completely damaged in this accident according to some sources. One of the residents of that area, Mr.K.Lokantham said that fire was spread due to spark caused from a  hut in their area which later resulted this mishap.

Revenue Development Officer(RDO), Mr.G.C.Kishore Kumar, Kakinada municipal corporation mayor Ms.K.Saroja and district fire officer,Mr.G.Yoseph visited the location and assured the victims to give all necessary  rehabilitation measures. RDO addressed the reporters that amount loss is yet to be determined. On the other hand Mr.T.Ramesh, Telugu desam in-charge of area under 10th ward of the corporation said that the then  government under the aegis of then Kakinada MLA,Mr.Mutta Gopala Krishna and Kakinada MP Mr M.M.Pallam Raju gave a word on july 12,2005 that they will construct 500 houses at a cost of 2 Cr but nothing had moved forward till now, he added.
