Kakinada, May 11th: National Technology Day was celebrated at Civil Engineering Department of local Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) here on Monday. Science and Technology director, Dr. B. Prabhakara Rao revealed that the day will be celebrated through out the country every year on May 11 to mark the anniversary of Shakti (Pokhran Nuclear Tests), the day our country became self-reliant in this critical technology on May 11, 1998.
Speaking on the occasion university principal, Mr. E.V Prasad revealed that technology is interrelated to each and every development made by scientists for the benefit of the society and the country. University vice principal, G.V.R Prasad appreciated JNTU VC, Mr. Allam Apparao for introducing new technical courses in the university syllabus aiming to make students well versed in technical knowledge. Dr. Satya Prasad, director Padma Raju, Uday Bhaskar, Yesu Ratnam and students took part in the celebration.
