Visakhapatnam, Nov 25th: The Air Travelers Association (India) (ATAI) Secretary D Rajgopal Reddy has proposed to conduct a National Summit on Tourism in the port city in the last week of January 2010. Informing the media persons here yesterday, he said the Union Minister of State for Tourism Kumari Selja, AP Tourism Minister J Geeta Reddy and ministers and secretaries from Pondicherry, Kerala, Orissa and Chattishgarh will be invited to participate in the summit.
Mr Reddy said a ‘Vizag Travel Mart’ will also be organized for three days in the summit. Well known domestic and international airlines, travel agencies, tourism promotion boards and tour operators, among many others, will participate in the Travel Mart.
The summit will also provide an opportunity to public to book their travel tickets to various domestic and international destinations, besides getting a fair idea of tourism in their regions and countries. The association has also planned a 'Vizag Shopping Festival’ to focus on the variety of goods that will be made available to domestic and foreign tourists at reasonable prices.
