The birthday of Major Mr. Dhyan Chand Singh on 29th of August is celebrated as National Sports Day in India. On Sports day, various sports competitions would be conducted in District sports ground in association with D.S.A (District Sports authority). Under-14 and Under-18 boys and girls competitions will be conducted in the purview of Kakinada. Volley Ball, Foot Ball, Hockey, Swimming, Basket Ball, Kho-Kho, Kabbadi and other sports will be conducted. More than 300 sportsperson will be participating in these competitions said District sports development officer Mr. R.Ravi. Following the instructions from the Additional joint collector, they are arranging to celebrate National Sports Day in almost every school he added.
