Kakinada, Jan 11th: Andhra Pradesh state unit for “The Indian Society of Anesthesiologists” (ISA) has bagged the best branch award at the national level. This is the fifth time the Kakinada branch winning the award. The president of ISA for Andhra Pradesh unit, Dr A.S. Kameswara Rao has received the gold medal at the national wide conference held at Jodhpur on December 27th, 2008.
In addition to this the members of ISA, Kakinada branch Dr. Chakra Rao and Dr. Mishra were elected as the secretary and treasures of ISA, national unit. A press meet was organized at Government General Hospital, Kakinada on Sunday. Speaking to the media Dr. Chakra Rao said that he was very glad to be appointed as the secretary for the national unit of ISA.
He said that the branch was started in 1992 with 15 members and was rendering services to the needy since one decade. ISA members have set up a hospital in Kakinada which deals with pain and trauma cases. Dr. Charkra Rao said that the society is planning to offer advanced courses and fellowship in anesthesiology in due course after the permission from the Medical Council of India.
