Hyderabad, Jan 22nd: Former Intelligence Bureau (IB) director E.S.L. Narasimhan Friday took over as the 22nd governor of Andhra Pradesh. Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court A.R. Dave administered the oath of office at Raj Bhavan, the official residence of the governor. Chief Minister K. Rosaiah, his cabinet colleagues, leaders of various parties, Chief Secretary S.V. Prasad and other top officials attended the ceremony.
Narasimhan was last month sworn in as the 'in-charge governor' of Andhra Pradesh, in addition to being governor of Chhattisgarh. The 63-year-old took additional charge Dec 27 following the resignation of N.D. Tiwari over allegations of his involvement in a sex scandal. The central government had last week appointed Narasimhan as full-time governor of the southern state. He was sworn in again in accordance with constitutional requirements.
