Hyderabad, Nov 24th: Refusing to bite the bullet, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu today wanted Chief Minister K Rosaiah to take action to stop 'illegal mining,' allegedly by Obulapuram Mining Company, instead of challenging to quit. ''There is no relevance between the ''illegal mining'' issue and the civic polls in the State Capital.

It is not proper for Mr Rosaiah to make resignation offer and club it with local body elections, the outcome of which would be based on various issues, including price rise,'' he told a press conference here. ''We don't want to come to power through the backdoor. Whoever is in power, we will fight it out till the last,'' he said. ''We did not demand Mr Rosaiah's resignation. We only wanted him to act upon the findings of the Central Empowered Committee, which had passed ''strictures'' against the State Government.''
