Kakinada, May 22nd: Mr. Y. Nagi Reddy to charge as East Godavari superintendent of police (SP) on Friday. Mr. Reddy who was relived from the post on April 9 at the instance of the Election Commission was posted back to the district on Thursday by the director general of police (DGP), Mr S.S.P Yadav. Reddy took charge at 4 pm, before which he had a one-to-one meeting with the outgoing SP, Ms. Charu Sinha, at the SP’s camp office.
Later, speaking to media persons at district police office Mr. Reddy, expressed happiness on returning to East Godavari. He assured to continue all the good work done by the outgoing SP. The outgoing SP, Ms. Charu Sinha, said that as public servants, they were bound to work at any place of choice of government whether it is for shorter or longer periods. She also said that she would report to the DGP’s office as directed on Saturday. Ms. Sinha, the first woman SP of the district in the post-independence era worked in Kakinada for the shortest period of 42 days.
