Kakinada, May 21st: Mr. Y. Nagi Reddy, who was transferred from the district in April this year by the election commission, is going to take back his position as East Godavari SP. He is likely to take charges on Friday from the outgoing SP Ms Charu Sinha. Mr. Reddy was transferred on the charges of showing soft corner towards the people involved in oil pilferage. He was kept in vacancy reserve by EC till the end of the elections.
It is learnt that Ms Sinha was transferred for the role of police in arresting Congress leaders and their supporters at Rajahmundry during the conduct of second phase of elections. It is known that this is also a revenge taken on her in arresting Congress MLA, R. Surya Prakash and MLC, Kandula Durgesh in the case of attack on Rajahmundry police station.
Ms Sinha was transferred and asked to report at the DGP’s office with immediate action. She joined here on April 9 on the orders of DGP A.K Mohanthy. She holds the credit of first women IPS officer posted to East Godavari district in the last six decades. When contacted on Thursday, She confirmed her transfer and said that she enjoyed working here.
