Kakinada, Mar 23rd: Sitting congress MLA, Mr. Muttha Gopala Krishna has decided to quit from congress and likely to contest as independent candidate in the fore coming Assembly and parliament elections which are scheduled to be organized in the district on April 23rd. Speaking to the media persons here on Monday, Mr. Gopalakrishna revealed his interest in contesting as a independent candidate. He said that with no response received from the chief minister, Y.S Raja Shekar Reddy when contacted through phone he decided to contest as independent candidate.
Congress leaders are preferring to give Kakinada assembly seat to senior congress leader and PCC member, Mr Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reedy by neglecting Muttha Gopala Krishna. It is said that, close rapo of Mr. Chandrashekar Reddy with Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy clinched the ticket in favor of Mr. Chandrashekar Reddy. Mr. Gopala Krishna is likely to file his nomination as independent candidate on April 4.
