The Election Commission on Monday, announced that the Municipal Elections will be held on 30th of March, 2014 in the state. According to the official sources, the counting of votes will be taken up 2nd of April, 2014. These elections will be conducted for 146 municipalities and 10 municipal corporations in the state. As many as 1 Crore voters from the state will cast their ballots in these elections, as per records. Speaking on this, the District Collector Mrs. Neetu Kumari Prasad has stated that the election code of conduct would come into effect immediately. She said that around 511 polling centers were arranged for these elections in the district. A total 562 electronic voting machines are ready for use, she announced. She said that the observation teams were appointed in view to check the election code implementation. She has conducted a review meet on this and gave alert to all the respective officials, here.
