Kakinada, Dec 22nd: Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi has staged dharna at RTC complex demanding for the categorization of Schedule caste. MRPS activists did not allow the buses to move from depots from the early hours. Few other activists staged rasta roko, due to which the traffic was blocked up to half km in the complex road.
The activists by playing drums proceeded towards Kokila restaurant, Bhanugudi, Two town, Main road, Jagannaickpur bridge, Temple street, Balaji Cheruvu and reached collectorate. They alleged for the demands and submitted petition to the collector, Gopala Krishna Dwivedi.
MRPS district leader, Kondepuri Shaym Babu demanded to pass the categorization bill in the parliament. He criticized the government and the prime minister for not doing the same. He warned to call for bundh, if the government fails to pass the bill in the parliament.
RTC incurred revenue loss of 7 lakh as nearly 50 per cent of its services were affected. Adida Nagabhushanam, Thathapudi Apparao and other activists took part in dharna.
