Collector M.Ravi Chandra visited Amalapuram division to monitor the situation arising from the cyclone. While inspecting the arrangements on cyclone relief on Wednesday noticed the MPDO (Mandal Parishad Development Officer) of Mamidikuduru, Mr.Nagendra Kumar was absent. Collector Ravi Chandra suspended him for his failure to turn up for the cyclone duties. On this occasion he warned special officers and other officials that severe action will be taken if they fail to attend their duties. Meanwhile, 829 people from low lying areas of Tondangi, Mamidikuduru, Sakhientipalli, Pallepalam and other places were shifted to rehabilitation camps in district.
