MP will quit politics if bifurcated

Hyderabad, Dec 22nd: Congress Lok Sabha Member from Vijayawada Lagadapati Rajagopal on Tuesday said he would quit politics if Andhra Pradesh was bifurcated. Mr Rajagopal, who resigned as MP and undertook fast-unto-death from December 14 soon after his arrest here protesting the UPA Goverment's decision to set in motion the process for formation of Telangana State, told the media that Centre would come out with a statement acceptable to all regions of the State.

He expressed the hope that the Centre would come out with a clear cut statement on United Andhra as the people of all the 23 districts did not want the State to be divided into two as they were of the opinion that development would not take place by dividing it. The Congress leader said according to him, his fast ended on the December 19 night itself when the authorities administered the IV fluids. He said there was no meaning in continuing fast with the help of IV fluids and Total Parental Nutrition (TPN).
