Kakinada, Jan 1st: A motivation program for the students was held by the department of social welfare in view of new year here on Friday. As part of this the Class X students of social welfare hostels in East Godavari district were advised to score good marks in the ensuing public exams and bring laurels to their parents and the government, which is providing them free education with all facilities.
Interacting with students the collector, Mr. Gopala Krishna Dwevedi said that the state government was spending crores of rupees on providing free education to students of SC and Weaker section. So they have to utilize the golden opportunity by proving themselves as successful citizens. The government would award prizes to those who score good marks in public exams, the collector said and directed the officials to ensure that the students are provided hygienic food and other facilities at hostels. The Social Welfare department joint director, Mr. G. Nageswara Rao, the BC welfare officer, Ms S.K Annapoorna were present.
