District Collector Mrs. Neetu Kumari Prasad has ordered APMSIDC officials to complete the construction works of Mother & Child Hospital, which is being sanctioned by the state government with Rs.20 crores to Kakinada Government General Hospital. Many other major issues were discussed in the Hospital Development Society (HDS) meeting, which was held on Saturday at GGH Children ward meeting hall. Kakinada Rural MLA Mr. Kannababu, Pithapuram MLA Mrs. Vanga Geeta, DM&HO Dr. Padmavathi & RMC Principal were presided over this meeting. Firstly, the Hospital Superintendent Dr. Venkata Budha has called the major issues of the Agenda. Speaking on this, the Collector said 'we are going to submit a report to the government on extension of beds to GGH. Presently there are 1060 beds in the hospital, we are trying to expand the number as 1500', she added. She asked Superintendent to take action to clear 40% of salary pendings for the hospital contract employees. HDS member Mr. Boddu Venkata Ramana Murthy has suggested to purchase Cobalt Therapy equipment for Cancer department in the hospital. Additional DM&HO Dr. Pavan Kumar remembered the doctors to prescribe only generic medicines according to the government order. RMC Vice Principal Dr. Babji, Dr. Raghavendra Rao, Hospital Dy Superintendent Dr. K.S.R.Swamy, AD Mr. Uday Bhaskar, HOD's, Rotary Club Representative Mr. Murthy and other doctors attended the meeting.
