Kakinada, Feb 26th: The Union Budget for 2010-11 financial year has imposed greater burden on the common people while extending sops to the affluent sections. Addressing media persons at the party office here on Friday, TDP leader Mr. Ramakrishnudu said the States share in Central pool has been increased by just 1.5 percent, taking it close to 32 percent. It has been a consistent demand of the States to increase it to 50 percent as 80 percent of the development expenditure is borne by them. Besides, the prices of food items and fertilizers were poised to shoot up further due to the complete removal of subsidies as recommended by the Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council. Former ministers Chikkala Ramachandra Rao and Gollapalli Surya Rao and former MLA Vanamadi Venkateswara Rao were among those present.
