Monsoon to advance in the state

Hyderabad, June 5th: With the formation of low pressure areas in Bay of Bengal the southwest monsoons are likely to advance in the state and will result in copious rainfall. The metrological department has predicted heavy rainfall over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, north coastal Andhra Pradesh and Coastal Orissa.

 

According to the meteorologist of the Hyderabad metrological department, Mr. G. Subba Rao, a low pressure area was formed over northwest Bay of Bengal and neighboring areas under the influence of cyclonic circulation over Gangetic West Bengal.

 

Many places in the state like Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Ramagundam, Adilabad, Karimnagar, Srikakulam, Guntur and Warangal reported rainfall on Friday. The heat wave conditions may subside in Srikakulam, East Godavari, West Godavari and Coastal Andhra Pradesh by Sunday. Officials also predicted rain or thundershowers in parts of city.
