Hyderabad, May 1st: According to the Chief Election Commissioner, Mr. I.V Subba Rao, the state election authorities are going to conduct mock counting through out the state on May 3. This is to asses the time required for up gradation of results to the election commission. EC directed all the states to install computers with internet connection at each and every counting center for quick up gradation.
EC told that dummy machines would be used for assessing the time taken for completion of each round. Similar mock counting will be held on May 10 and May 11, he added. Counting will be stated with postal ballots at 8 am on May 16 and will be followed by counting of votes stored in EVMs. Each round is expected to be completed in 30 minutes and the entire process would be over by 6pm on the same day.
