MLAs to take oath today

Hyderabad, June 2nd: All the newly elected MLAs for the 13 th assembly will administer the oath by protem speaker, Mr. J.C Diwakar Reddy today. Elaborate arrangements were done by the police for the session. The new assembly has around 147 first time MLAs and the state legislature has asked the first time and newly elected MLAs to carry identification papers issued by the returning officers to ensure hassle free entry into Assembly session which begins on Wednesday.

 

The finance and legislature affairs minister, Mr. K. Rosaiah said that as there is severe paucity for space and the visitors gallery can accommodate only 120 people, each MLA is permitted to bring only five family members and relatives to the Assembly for the session. The legislature staff also worried about the huge numbers of media persons. According to sources 1000 passes were issued to media persons.

 

According to schedule announced by Mr. Rosaiah, the governor, Mr. N.D Tiwari will administer the oath to protem speaker, Mr. J.C Diwakar Reddy. The house will have the first woman home minister Ms Sabita Indra Reddy. The MLAs will take oath in batches of 30 and they will be called in an alphabetical order. PR chief, Mr. K. Chiranjeevi, actor Jayasudha and the TRS chief’s son, Mr. K.T Rama Rao are among the first time MLAs who will take oath.
