Kakinada, Dec 24th: A majority of elected representatives including MLAs and MLCs from the Congress, the Telugu Desam and the Praja Rajyam, who offered resignations in protest against the proposed bifurcation of the state from Godavari districts will withdraw their resignations following the statement from the Union home minister, Mr. P. Chidambaram to facilitate more deliberations and discussions involving all the stakeholders before finalizing a decision on the proposed formation of a separate Telangana State.

Though the agitating leaders and their supporters cutting across party lines and the advocates, doctors, students and others who staged hunger strikes and relay hunger strikes from December 10 to 23, called off their agitations following the statement, they consider it as a temporary relief and plan to take up the stir again if the Center goes ahead with its proposed bifurcation. With the changed scenario, the leaders who resigned are planning to withdraw their resignations once the raging tempers come down in parts of Telangana by the supporters of the bifurcation.
