Rajahmundry, Aug 19th: Praja Rajyam Party is likely to witness an exodus of a few more leaders who are basically migrants from other parties in the days to come, while party sources maintain that their cadre base is strong in East and West Godavari districts. Senior leaders, Mr. Devender Goud, Mr. Tammineni Seetaram, Mr. U.V Krishnam Raju and several other have already quit the party and joined their parent parties.

Initially several senior leaders from Congress, Telugu Desam and BJP have migrated to the Praja Rajyam, expecting that the party would form a government led by its president Chiranjeevi as Chief Minister. The party’s performance in the recently concluded elections was not encouraging enough for them to remain and wait to get to power in the next elections.

Several contestants from PRP failed to get elected as legislators by slender margins in several constituencies due to many factors including wrong selection of candidates. While this is so, leaders who prefer to remain in the party assess that it attracted lakhs of people for its first political meeting held in Tirupathi in august last year without support from migrant leaders.
Hyderabad, Aug 20th: The Praja Rajyam party president, Mr. K. Chiranjeevi on Thursday ruled out the rumors coming out about the merger of PRP with Congress. While addressing a media conference he criticized a regional daily for deliberately carrying out a vicious campaign against his party for the la...
