Hyderabad, Nov 9th: The state Government has decided to merge the intermediate education with secondary education and to continue the education as primary and secondary in future.
Chief Minister Y.S. Rajashekar Reddy speaking in the meeting held by higher officials regarding the decision has declared that the classes XI and XII will be disappeared as IPE and will be taken care by the Secondary Board of Education. Sarva Shikha Abhiyan which was functioning as a separate entity will also be merged into primary education.
Government has taken this decision to make primary and secondary education a fundamental right and compulsory education to the children on the lines of Kerala and Tamilnadu. Due to this merging good quality of education can be offered to the children.
Primary education and SSA will be under the control of one minister and secondary and intermediate education under other. Separate directors for each department under the control of one Principle secretary.
Educational Minister Mr. Damodara Rajanarasimha, Minister of SSA Mr. Hanumantha Rao and Sharma, Principal secretary took part in the meeting to bring reforms in the school education.
