Meet to promote tourism

Visakhapatnam, Aug 25th: The Air Travelers Association of India (ATA) in association with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Vizag Chamber of Commerce and Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) will organize a roundtable conference on September 3 for promoting north coastal Andhra Pradesh as a tourist and Buddhist tourist hub, said the ATA president, Mr. D. Varada Reddy. In a release here on Tuesday, he said that the meeting would discuss on promoting Vizag as a tourist hub, strengthening infrastructure, preparing sound and light shows in Buddhist sites and make Vizag an international tourist spot.

The minister for tourism, Ms. J. Geetha reddy, the managing director of AP Tourism Development Corporation, Mr. B. Venkatesam, the Rajya Sabha member, Mr. T. Subbarami Reddy, senior officials, MPs and MLAs will participate in the meeting. Mr. Vadara Reddy hoped that Buddhists sites in Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam and East Godavari would receive national attention so that Buddhists from all over the world could visit the region.
