The decision leads to 1,200 students across the state missing the exam including 500 in the city. Official’s blamed the media for blowing the issue out of proportion.

Meanwhile the JNTU will submit proposals to the APSCHE for approval which include allowing students till half-an-hour after the commencement of the exam or giving 15 minutes grace period. It will also propose to conduct medical and engineering exams in the morning and evening sections respectively.

Reacting over the complaint, chairman of APSCHE, Prof K.C Reddy said that the rule on late coming has been in force since 12 years but the media was projecting as if it was introduced for the first time. “We should also take the secrecy of question papers into account and it is not advisable to allow students into the exam centers after the exam begin”, he said.
