Rampachodavaram, Aug 13th: Keeping the number of fever cases in view, the East Godavari district administration has declared medical emergency in seven mandals of the Agency area. A total of 6,702 fever cases were reported from 670 habitations under 18 Primary Health Centers (PHC), 96 sub-centers, two Community Health Centers and one government hospital at Addateegala.
According to Yogita Rana, Project Officer of ITDA, out of 6,702 fever cases, 111 tested positive for malaria. While two persons reportedly died due to malaria, six others died due to various diseases in the last 25 days. District Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi, who camped here on Wednesday, said 300 medical teams were deployed in the Agency area.
