Kakinada, June 3rd: To bring economic viability and profitability to the Godavari Dairy at Rajahmundry, East Godavari district administration is taking measures to start 11 more bulk cooling centers at various places in the district in addition to the existing 10. Procurement of milk will be raised to 70,000 litres from the present 30,000 litre in the next four months. The administration has noticed a slump in the procurement of milk in the last one month and decided to fix targets at the bulk cooling centre level.
The administration has directed the general manager of the dairy to take decision on the price of the milk for procurement considering the competition from others. It was also decided to utilize the services of the department of animal husbandry for holding medical camps fro milch cattle in rural areas with veterinary medical officers. It was also decided to amalgamate the Godavari Dairy with the animal husbandry for effective distribution of milch cattle, cattle feed and seeds of cattle feed to impress milk suppliers.
