Kakinada, Feb 25th: District authorities are taking measures to speed up the welfare programs taken up by the government in the district. Authorities are planning to complete all the ongoing welfare schemes and programs on or before March 15th. In this concern a review meeting was organized under the chairmanship of district collector, Mr. Gopala Krishna Dwevedi on Wednesday at collectorate court hall. Review was organized on various schemes which include self help groups, Rajiv Yuva shakthi, pensions related to Abhayahastham and many more.
Speaking on the occasion collector said that nearly 677 crore of rupees was sanctioned by the banks under loans to self help groups. In addition to this he asked to take measures to sanction 150 crore more loans. He revealed that under the prime minister’s employment generation scheme the authorities have planned to start 277 industrial units. He asked the concerned officers to contact the banks and speed up the process of sanctioning the loans for the same. Andhra Bank D.G.M B.S Rama Rao, L.D.M Shanmukha Achari, K. Satyanarayana, various bank officers and district officers participated in the meeting.
