Kakinada, Feb 24
th: East Godavari district collector. Mr. Gopala Krishna Dwevedi has ordered the concerned officers and the villager sarpanchs to take measures for the complete eradication of child labour in the district. Under the chairmanship of collector, a review meeting was organized at
collectorate court hall on Tuesday. Divisional heads and officers from various departments attended the meeting. Besides training he also asked to take measures to provide healthy food and medical facilities to the children.
Speaking on the occasion, collector ordered the officers to plan for establishment of special schools for child labour in five of the revenue divisions in the district. He asked them to make arrangements for providing training in job oriented courses to the child labour. He ordered to form a committee headed by village sarpanch to prepare the list of all existing child labour in the villages and rural areas and educate them to join in these schools to under go training in different technical courses. Under Rajiv Udyoga Sri scheme he asked to train the children between the age 14 and 17 so as to provide a way for the self employment.
