Kakinada, May 30th: The correspondent of McLauren Educational Institutions and Kakinada revenue divisional officer, Mr. G.C Kishore Kumar has initiated several measures to develop the century old McLauren Educational institutions to make them regain their past glory. The institutions were started by Dr. McLauren in 1906 as part of community service in the coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh.

The institution has a spacious campus of 20 acre on the middle of the Kakinada city. It came into the fold of government in 1999. As part of development activities a new block with a cost of Rs 40 Lakh will be constructed. At present the institution has total strength of 147 out of which 23 students appeared for SSC exams and came out with good results.

The authorities have decided to give Rs 10,000 as cash incentive to a student, Naga Lakshmi who secured highest marks in the results. This is to encourage the students from BPL families to continue studies.
