Kakinada, Aug 11th: The East Godavari district administration has initiated special measures to control the spread of malaria and other contagious diseases in Agency areas in the district. Senior district officers in the cadre of deputy collectors and senior officers of district medical and health department were deputed to agency mandals for monitoring.
The collector directed the district medical and health officer to fill all paramedical posts, lab technicians and allied categories with immediate effect with out waiting for the consent of the medical officers. The administration has initiated steps for medical camps at various mandals and primary health centers in all the seven Agency mandals.
According to the collector, 12 day medical camps were started from Tuesday. Nearly 510 blood samples were tested related to 18 PHCs in the entire area and seven cases were tested positive for malaria. The collector further said that both the revenue and medical officers appointed as special officers, will monitor medical care in all seven agency mandals till normalcy is restored.
