Kakinada, May 14th: East Godavari district administration is taking various measures to beat the scorching heat of summer. As a part of this it has started distribution of pamplets to the public containing information on how to avoid sunstrokes and water borne diseases. People were advised to stay in cool places and use umbrellas and caps in case they need to go out. They were also advised to drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration and sunstrokes. People were also advised to go to hospital immediately in case they find any symptoms of ill heath.
To avoid people falling ill health due to water borne diseases like gastroenteritis, cholera, dysentery, jaundice, typhoid and other infections they were asked to drink chlorinated water and maintain diet restrictions. They were also asked to maintain good hygienic conditions and sanitation by keeping their surroundings clean. Intake of fresh food and boiled water are suggested in the pamphlets issued under the name of collector and district health and medical officer.
