Addressing a press conference on the last day of her 5 year tenure as City Mayor, Smt. Kavikondala. Saroja said that the cooperation extended to her by the general public and elected representatives during the stretch was unforgettable. Ms. K. Saroja on Wednesday said that she was proud to take up development works in last five years and feeling bad for not fulfilling a couple of promises made to the public. She said that she was unable to take up any major development work in the first two years due to shortage of funds; the works began three years ago ever since the former Chief Minister YS. Rajasekhara Reddy released Rs. 13 crore under Rajiv Nagara Baata. On her plans, Ms. Saroja said that she would continue to work in the Congress party and ready to do whatever the party asked her to do. Mayor thanked Chief Minister Mr. K. Rosaiah, Union Minister Mr. M.M. Pallam Raju and others for giving opportunity to serve the public. Later, she said that plans are happening to launch a service organisation for the women in the city.
