District Collector Mrs. Neetu Kumari Prasad stated 'we will try to solve all the problems of labour workers in the district'. She has participated in May Day celebrations, which are organized at Collectorate Vidhan Gowtami hall, marking the day here on Wednesday. Speaking on this, she stated that the labour act was implementing perfectly in the district and we will continue the same in future. The district Labour department should give importance to provide PF & ESI facilities to the workers, she added. Later, the Dy Commissioner of the Labour dept, Mr. R.Srinivas has assured that they will take action to implement 8hrs duty perfectly for all the labour workers in the district. He said, we have provided identity cards for building construction workers in the district. We will work to eradicate child labour in the society, he stressed. He said that they are going to provide Rs.20 thousand to the family members of the workers, who are suffering with major diseases in the district. If any worker dead, we will provide Rs.5 thousand to their family members for cremation, he announced. Later, on behalf of the government, collector presented around Rs.35 Lakhs of amount for total 154 labour workers under various schemes. Also she had presented Rs. 4.45 Lakhs of amount to around 296 students from labour workers families in the district. Labour Welfare Committee Members Mr. Galla Ramu, Department Assistant Commissioners Mr. Prakasa Rao, Mr. M.N.Murthy, ICDS Program Director Mrs. Kameswaramma and others participated in the program. Meanwhile, the day also observed by the CPM and other left parties in the city. Marking the day, a huge rally was conducted with hundreds of workers in the city.
