Kakinada, Oct 9th: The district administration is planning to set up village malls on par to super bazaars where one can get all kind of essential commodities and other household articles at cheaper rates. The administration authorities have already directed all tahsildars to select suitable places and centers in villages to set up the malls which will be monitored by the district civil supply officer (DCSO).
Interested traders will be allowed to sell commodities at the malls at prices fixed by the civil supplies department. The malls can indirectly reduce the unemployment rate in the district, particularly villages, by providing jobs to youth, including semi educated girls as sales executives. The general opinion among customers, particularly the people living in urban areas is that the idea is good but officials should take proper care of the maintenance of the mall unlike their role in taking care of rythu bazaars or super bazaars.
