Kakinada, Nov 2nd: A major Fire broke out took place at Dummulapeta area on Sunday in Kakinada city in East Godavari District. Nearly 150 poor huts turned to ash and 15 lakh worth property was burnt in the fire. Many families turned shelter less due to this fire accident.
According to the sources, accident took place due to the fire that came from a cooking stove from a hut which created a major loss to many of the families. Fire control engines from Kakinada and Jagannaickpur rushed to the accident place and started to control the fire.
The victims were sheltered temporarily in nearby schools and were provided with food. They were consoled by Mr.Botsa Satyanarayana, Minister for housing, who came there to participate in some local programs.
Revenue Divisional minister Kishore Kumar, Cabinet Minister Pallam Raju, M.L.A. Muttha Gopala Krishna, Mayor Sarojini and many more visited the incident place and consoled the victims. Housing Minister assured that the Government will give 75,000 exgratia to the victim families and also declared to give houses under the Indiramma project.
