M.Tech admissions a mess

Hyderabad, Aug 23rd: Uncertainty looms over the M.Tech admissions in the state due to the change in admission procedures. Initially the officials decided to conduct centralized counseling for M.Tech admissions but later they opted for decentralized counseling, with each university conducting admissions separately. According to officials, priority will be given to students who have qualified in GATE followed by the students who cleared PGCET, the state level exam.

Many students allege that decentralized counseling is troublesome as they need to apply for each and every university separately which will incur additional expenditure towards application fee, travel and boarding to attend counseling separately in each university. Some universities have already issued notifications and have begun admissions adding to the confusion among the students. However the officials are forced to conduct the decentralized counseling as the existing centers are busy conducting Eamcet, Icet and B.Pharmacy admissions.
