Kakinada, Jan 18th: One of the effective approaches of lodging complaints about the governments programs and peoples problems to the officials concerned called Dial Your Collector is receiving poor response from the public. The collector Gopalakrishna Dwevedi received only 19 complaints on Monday from all the 60 mandals between 9.30am and 10.30am over the phone number 884-2384444 at the Praja Darbar, a weekly grievance cell program, which takes every Monday.
Sources said that the people were not properly informed about the process of registering complaints over the phone and direct interaction with the collector and the official concerned. More important, many of them do not know about the phone numbers and the Praja Darbar program. However, the officials denied such allegations and maintained that many people might have tried the phone numbers but failed due to several reasons including technical problems. Meanwhile, an official release here stated that nearly 300 people had directly approached the collectorate here for registering complaints during the Praja Darbar.
