The continuous heavy rains from past 5-days causing hardship to the residents of Kakinada. Rain water has inundated low-lying areas in the town. Roads were damaged, several homes were flooded & trees uprooted in the city. Some of the low-lying areas like Pratap Nagar, Sambamurthy Nagar, Kotha Kakinada, Siddhartha Nagar were blocked with rain water. The heavy rains bring hardship to the residents of these areas. Rain Water lodged at Pratap Nagar Electricity Substation. So that the areas under this substation faced Electricity problem. Teachers colony residents facing hardship from last five days as the rain water entered their colony and gushed into their homes. Normal life was severely hit due to these heavy rains. However, the rehabilitation centers were arranged for some low-lying areas in the city. Around 2000 victims were sent to these rehabilitation centers. The district administration has providing food & drinking water to them. But, flood-affected people of some areas struggle to get relief. On otherside, the opposition political party leaders from the district criticizing the government in response to rehabilitation of flood victims.
