President of the Lok Satta Party, Mr. N. Jayaprakash Narayana observed that lack of unity among the farmers helped the elected representatives and officials implement irregular policies for their personal gains. He said that the political leaders and officials are responsible for the agricultural crisis. Mr. Jayaprakash launched his two-day tour in East Godavari District here on Thursday, which was intended to conduct awareness meetings with the farmers in various villages. Mr. Jayaprakash wondered why there was a ban on export of agriculture produce, even as the godowns were overflowing with excess reserves of food grains. He said that lifting the ban on exports of agriculture produce was the need of the hour to address the agricultural crisis.
