Rajahmundry, Oct 13th: In an attempt to ensure quality education to students, Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) authorities are organizing Learning Enhancement Program (LEP) for teachers handling classes I to X in East Godavari. This program will be in two phases from October 5 to 31. In this process the authorities have selected eight teachers from each mandal for undergoing orientation program and 480 teachers are taking part in program in four spells. They will be trained in English, Telugu, Mathematics, Social Studies and Science.

Once this is completed, they, in turn, will go back to their mandal and train other teachers there. Likewise, eight teachers who are undergoing the orientation program in turn are expected to train nearly 200 teachers in each mandal. The entire LEP is expected to cover nearly 9,400 teachers handling classes from I to V and 2,473 vidya volunteers by the end of October in the district. SSA authorities have worked out a plan to carry out LEP for teachers at the mandal-level by trained teachers from October 19 to 31 without closing schools.
