Kakinada Feb 12^th: Due to lack of effective check on the rice supplying outlets, many irregularities are taking place in the supply. The main complaints from the consumers include irregular supply and mixing of broken rice in the super fine and fine rice. East Godavari district supply officer, B. Yesuratnam has denied the irregularities in the supplies. He said that a complaint cell will be functioning at the district collectorate and the consumers can go ahead with the irregularities in the supply by calling 884-2378461.

Mr Yesuratnam said that appropriate action will be taken on the concerned officers with the complaints received to the cell. There was an abnormal rise in the prices of the rice in the last few months. Due to this the consumers are facing many problems and an extra burden was laid on them. There was a drastic rise of 14 Rs per kg from couple of months. Keeping this in mind the district supply authorities have arranged 42 rice counters in the district. Out of these 10 are located at rythu bazaars and the remaining at different places in the district. Even with these additional measures taken by the authorities, the people are facing problems due to irregularities in supply.
